Clarity. Structure. Momentum.
Executive Function and Life Coaching
Whether you’re navigating school, work, or life, I help you focus on what matters and take meaningful action—without overwhelm.
How We Work
- Assess strengths and friction points
- Build routines that actually stick
- Practice planning, prioritizing, and follow-through
- Maintain progress with smart accountability
Coaching for Students
Helping Students Stay Organized, Motivated, and Engaged at School and Beyond.
Students are expected to juggle a lot—schoolwork, schedules, social dynamics—and they’re still developing the skills to manage it all. That’s where I come in.
I help students develop executive function skills like time management, organization, planning, and self-advocacy. We meet one-on-one, in person or virtually, with the consistency and structure necessary to stay on track.
This is not tutoring. It’s coaching that builds independence, confidence, and accountability.
What We Work On
- Tracking assignments and turning in work on time
- Keeping materials, spaces, and digital tools organized
- Advocating with teachers and staying in communication
- Building study routines and planning habits
- Understanding classroom expectations and “invisible points”
- Managing stress, distractions, and overwhelm
Who I Work With
- Middle School & High School Students – Weekly or twice-weekly sessions focused on academics, routines, and school engagement
- College Students – Remote coaching with screen-sharing and syllabus tracking to help them stay on top of classes, life tasks, and campus resources
Collaboration That Works
I communicate directly with teachers, administrators, learning specialists, and therapists. Everyone supporting your child has the same ultimate goal, and I want your child to feel that fully. Schools are eager to partner with me to help the kids I work with, and your child will feel the benefit of a cohesive team.
Bonus:
Parents get to stop being the school police. I create space where students talk more freely and take more ownership—without the emotional tangle that can come with parent-child dynamics. I’ll take it from here.
Leah has been working with our 9th grade son for the past 2 years. He was so disorganized, thinking he knew what his homework was but often forgetting about assignments and then submitting things late or not at all because he claimed he never knew about them. It was so frustrating to always be nagging him to check and double check, and it put a huge strain on our relationship with him. Now he works with Leah and he is on top of all his assignments. He checks his portal every day. He has a Google Calendar and he plans out his studying and his assignments. It's actually becoming second nature for him to put things on his calendar as he thinks of them! He is taking a totally different kind of ownership over his work and it is so good to see him so invested in being an active participant in his schooling. He is submitting all his assignments now, and his teachers are thrilled to see his new level of commitment.
Coaching for Clarity, Structure, and Sanity
I don’t just help you talk about change. I help you take steps that actually feel good to your system.
Life Coaching for Adults
As a life coach, I help adults take a step back, sort through the noise, and figure out what’s really important—and how to move toward it. My work blends executive function support (planning, prioritizing, doing the hard stuff) with the deeper work of understanding what’s been getting in the way.
Together, we build systems, boundaries, and habits that help you feel more grounded, less reactive, and more aligned with the life you want.
What We Work On
- Executive functions: following through, prioritizing, breaking down tasks
- Organizing life: paperwork, time, space, goals
- Communicating what you want—in work, in life
- Managing overwhelm and reducing procrastination
- Letting go of overachievement, guilt, and perfectionism
- Making hard decisions with clarity and courage
Before I started working with Leah I felt like I was drowning - I couldn’t keep up with what was expected of me both at the office and at home. I was a master at procrastinating and avoiding, and completely ignoring people who I really needed to get back to. I did not feel successful at staying on top of my life. Since I started working with Leah 3 months ago I am seeing myself start to get unstuck. I am not yet on top of everything, but I’m experiencing tremendous shifts in the way I approach things - starting with the fact that I am now actually approaching the things!
About Leah
Hi, I’m Leah Portnoy Worenklein.
I help people take action even when it feels overwhelming.
I help kids, teens, and adults develop the tools they need to organize their lives, focus their energy, and move forward with confidence.
My degree is from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. I started as a learning specialist and executive function coach for students, and I still love helping young people grow into their most empowered selves. I then grew my practice to include adults who need help with more than just getting things done—they need help clarifying what they want, and then giving themselves permission to want it, and to achieve it.
I’m a coach who listens deeply, tells the truth gently, and helps you figure out what’s next—then take the steps to get there.
I work in person from my office in White Plains, NY, and virtually with clients around the world. Want to see if we’re a fit?
